Join us for the launch of two new documentary films focusing on the life
and work of artist Willem Boshoff. The screening of the films will be open on to view on the Javett-UP website from 18:00 on 27 January 2022 to 18:00 on 29 January 2022. On 28 January 2022 at 18:30 film director Guy Spiller and Helene Smuts, the producer and curator of Boshoff’s retrospective Word Woes, will sit down to discuss the production of the film as well as the work and life of Willem Boshoff.
The documentaries offer a personal encounter with the artist as The Big Druid. The first film THE BIG DRUID – Willem Boshoff – Man of Trees, presents the artist in his garden and studio, talking about his work and lifelong affinity with nature. The second film, THE BIG DRUID – Willem Boshoff – Land Artist, continues the articulation of Boshoff’s philosophy as he speaks to his permanent sculptural installations at the Nirox Sculpture Park.
