A conversation with Zakes Mda

The Yakhal’Inkomo exhibition has a selection of almost 40 selected books that visitors are encouraged to read in the space.  The Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria is proud to have partnered with FCBC this year to allow for book reviews from this selection as well as inviting authors and hosting possible film screenings.

Please join us on 15 October at 13:00 for a conversation with Zakes Mda who will be unpacking his book “We Shall Sing For The Fatherland and Other Plays” which speaks to the Yakhal’Inkomo exhibition at the Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria.

ABOUT Fat Cat Book Club

Fat Cat Book Club (FCBC) is a non-profit organisation based in Tshwane which hosts regular sessions with their members to discuss books, authors or upcoming political, social or economic themes. Unlike traditional book clubs which make it mandatory for each member to read the same book for discussions, the FCBC allows members to choose a book (from a list) which they find interesting. On a monthly basis, each member then rotates to review their selected book.
