The Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (Javett-UP) is thrilled to invite you to the Lefifi Tladi Cultural Preservation Workshop taking place this Saturday 22 June 2024.
The workshop is dedicated to celebrating and safeguarding our rich Indigenous heritage through play and intergenerational dialogue where generations will be brought together to engage in traditional games like Diketo, Morabaraba, and Mogusha to name a few. This is an opportunity to reconnect with our roots and spark intergenerational conversations about the significance of our cultural heritage.
The day will feature: Intergenerational dialogue on cultural preservation; Traditional games and activities for all ages; Thought-provoking discussions led by Lerato Kuzwayo, Mabafokeng Hoeane, Lerato Lodi, and Ntate Tony Simanga. Delicious food and music will be served with DJ Sumthin on the decks.
