Art & Wine Experience at Javett-UP

Published 10 November 2022 in News from Javett-UP

Join us as we explore the Yakhal’Inkomo The Bongi Dhlomo Collection with a wine tasting of selected wines from black-owned wine labels Aslina and Magna Carta. The Yakhal’Inkomo exhibition celebrates black life through the 20th Century and invites us to see creativity as resistance and acknowledge the long-standing tradition of Black Art within South Africa.

The tasting will take place in our viewing gallery, which is currently home to the Sound of Music, the sonic exploration of Yakhal’InkomoThe Bongi Dhlomo Collection. We will engage with a variety of works, including but not limited to George Pemba’s Black Jesus, photography by Alf Khumalo and tapestries by Jane Makhubela.

Each ticket costs R350 and includes six wines and a selection of cheeses and meats. We look forward to hosting you for this unique Javett-UP experience.
