Professional Development Workshop with Educators

Javett-UP has an innovative and collaborative approach to learning. In this tradition, we collaborated with Deléne Human, UP Art Education lecturer from the Faculty of Education, and Rinelle Evans, UP Professor Emerita from the Faculty of Education, to conduct a professional development workshop with educators as part of the Willem Boshoff Word Woes exhibition guest curated by Hélène Smuts. The workshop aims to engender a powerful sense of exhibition content integration across the curriculum and provide guidelines on creating integrated worksheets for learners. Educators will engage with Deléne, Rinnelle and Puleng Plessie who is the curator of Education at the Javett-UP, to unpack and discuss the significance of visual language, particularly that artist’s use of materials, and visual meaning-making processes. Educators will be invited to engage with activities, artwork analysis, and ideas exchange. The submission of the post-sessional worksheet will ensure that the participants receive a certificate of attendance.
