On 26 November the Javett-UP, in
association with the National Institute
of Humanities and Social Science (NIHSS), will host A Chapter A Day Book club for an interactive tour of the SCENORAMA curatorial project followed by a discussion on an excerpt
from the book, "The Story of the Cannibal Woman" authored by Richard
Philcox and Maryse Condé. The discussion will reflect on SCENORAMA and the book chapter by unpacking how we can create new
ways of thinking about post colonisation, individual and collective experiences
and the loss of cultural and spiritual memory.
About
A Chapter A Day Book Club:
A Chapter A Day Book
club was founded in 2017 by a group of women who shared a passion for
reading/books. It is a women only book club whose
purpose is to promote reading, socialise and to share life experiences as we
navigate life. The book club’s motto is:
Sharing life experiences through reading books. Our mothers had stokvels, the
modern women have Book clubs.
Please note this event is closed to the public.
