De-installation of Handle With Care and Interfacing New Heavens
Date: 28 February 2022
Venue: Ground floor and First Floor Galleries
Have you ever been curious about the behind-the-scene activities of exhibition making? We use words like curatorial, walkabout, collection, dialogues and mediations but at the end of the day, it’s about the art at the Javett-UP. We don’t believe that the labour behind the scenes should be kept out of sight, like a secret from the public. Over the week beginning on the 28th of February, we will be undertaking the de-installation of Handle with Care and Interfacing New Heavens exhibitions where works and ideas will be put into ‘sleep’ in our archives and storage rooms where future dreaming can take place in order for more ideas to be generated. As these come down, we will begin installing our upcoming exhibition, Yakhal’Inkomo. We will remain open during de-installation and installation processes.
You are welcome to join us and to witness what is often an invisible exhibition-making process.
