The Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (Javett-UP) will be conducting renovations in the Dippenaar Family Trust Gallery and the Javett Foundation Gallery from 10 June until the end of July 2024. To safeguard the wellbeing of our staff and visitors, the two donor galleries will remain closed for the duration of the construction.
This will not interfere with visitors' access to other galleries to view the signature exhibitions we have on display, such as The National Treasures: Mapungubwe Gold Collection and The AngloGold Ashanti Barbier-Mueller Gold of Africa Collection. The current University of Pretoria Museums (UP Museums) exhibition Homage to Pretoria in the Bridge Gallery will also remain accessible to all visitors.
The Javett-UP is committed to ensuring a healthy and safe experience for visitors, staff, and the broader community when in the premises. While we welcome these upgrades, we do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Admission Times:
10am - 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday
Last admission at 4pm
Children under 6, registered public university students, University of Pretoria staff enjoy free entry to the Javett-UP.
